STARGLUE-R242

(Cross Linked-Polyethylene & Closed Cell-Elastomeric Insulation Adhesive)

STARGLUE-R242 is inflammable, heat resistant, one component adhesive purely on POLYCHLOROPRENE with special resins, tackyfier and additives. It is specially developed for Nitral EPDM rubber closed cell and PE Cross Link foam insulation system & similar material with concrete and wooden substrates. Due to Low VOC. It is applicable for Green Building Project

PROPERTIES
STARGLUE-R242 has correct balance of wet and dry tack with smooth flow properties and uniform and fast drying characteristics. STARGLUE-R242 is heaving very good heat and fire retardant properties and it is completely fire resistance in cured form.
STARGLUE-R242is also suitable to most of non-porous with porous surface.

APPLICATION
STARGLUE-R242 has excellent adhesion and good compatibility with closed cell Nitral rubber, EPDM and PE concrete & wooden substrates crosslink foam insulation with range of metal substrate and non metal surfaces.

USES

Used for Air Duct insulation, Pipe sections, slabs under deck (metal, concrete) etc.

Benefits

  • STARGLUE R-242 is a Low VOC Adhesive in their segment.
  • The bond created between insulation and jacketing/substrate is strong, which helps prevent delamination to provide longer service life.
  • May be used to seal or butter cut edges of duct liner insulation to retard fiber release. It can be applied to edges by brush only.
  • High production rates and excellent coverage.
  •  Meets the requirements of fire protection rating agencies.
  • Very Economical.

health & Safety

As with all chemicals, caution should always be exercised. Protective clothing such as gloves and goggles should be worn.

INHALATION:

Inhalation of vapor or mist should be avoided. Symptoms include coughing, wheezing, laryngitis, and shortness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting. Immediately shift victim to fresh air, and, if needed immediately start artificial respiration. Give oxygen if breathing is labored. Get emergency medical help

SKIN CONTACT:
Flush eyes with water for 15 minutes and call for medical help. with water or soap and water until all traces have been removed. Seek medical attention if required

Method of Application

Before applying the surface should be prepared clean and even free from dust loose shavings, oil and grease.

Apply STARGLUE-R242 on both surfaces either with brush or pressure feeding equipment to a uniform coat. Allow 10-20 minutes to evaporate the complete solvent, and then assemble the surface by applying normal hand pressure to give strong bond.

OPEN TIME

Open time varies for surface from 10 minutes to 25 minutes depending on thickness of layers of adhesive, substrate type, moisture and temperature.

COVERAGE

The wet coverage of STARGLUE R-242 is 6 to 8 m2 /Ltr. subjected to the applied film thickness. The recommended film thickness is 100 to 120 mic. To get proper coverage, please always keep close the container’s spout to prevent the solvent evaporation

CAUTION
Adequate ventilation must be maintained, particularly in confined spaces. Due to volatile in nature of solvent, keep away from source of ignition such as pilot lights or sparks Prohibition of smoking must be rigidly enforced in the vicinity of use Do not open lid of container use spout only, to prevent and minimize the evaporation.
